Project Initiation
Project initiation includes the following steps:
- Schools/units will be notified of capital resource allocations. This will happen at the conclusion of the Resource Planning Process in their annual resource allocation letters.
- Schools/units can begin the Capital Facilities Process by initiating each approved capital facilities project. To initiate a capital facilities project, the school/unit must submit a Capital Facilities Workgroup Request Form.
Note, only approved projects can proceed to initiation. See steps for projects that are not approved. - The Capital Facilities Workgroup will manage project initiation and guide endorsed capital facilities projects through the approval process.
Role of the Capital Facilities Workgroup
The Capital Facilities Workgroup will:
- Review the Request at its next regularly scheduled meeting
- Consult with the school/unit and other supporting units, as necessary, to ensure that the request is as accurate and informative as possible
- Identify a Project Approval Path
- Assign a Facilities project planner or manager to develop and/or inform the request
- Ensure that campus planning, code, architectural and aesthetic considerations are reviewed
- Begin tracking the project with the Office of the Provost and the Office of Budget and Planning
- Identify and communicate next steps with the school/unit
