A digital accessibility concern is a barrier that makes it difficult for a website or digital tool/technology to be navigated and used by users with disabilities (including blindness/low vision, deafness/hearing loss, neurological/cognitive limitations, limited movement and other impairments). Accessibility issues are present if digital content is not accessible for those using assistive technologies to access it.
A grievance is complaint of discrimination or harassment on the basis of disability. It can be made by staff, faculty, students, and applicants for both University employment and academic admission, vendors, contractors, and third parties.
Discrimination is treating someone differently because of their protected status. Harassment aims to interfere with, limit or deprive a member of the community from accessing or participating in the academic/employment environment, or substantially interfering with an individual’s academic/work performance; or create an environment considered intimidating, hostile or offensive.
Physical accessibility concerns might include architectural barriers or malfunctioning accessibility equipment that prevent movement or access for people with disabilities
Sexual misconduct occurs any time a person is forced, coerced, manipulated and/or threatened into any unwanted sexual contact, attempted or completed. It also includes any sexual contact without explicit consent. You cannot give consent if you are unconscious or incapacitated due to alcohol or other substance use.
