Transcripts and Test Scores

Official SAT/ACT score reports (if applicable)

If you included self-reported SAT or ACT scores as part of your application, you will have to submit official scores to match your highest self-reported section/composite scores by July 1. Your official standardized test scores are required in order for you to participate in Wildcat Welcome, move into your residence hall, and register for classes.

You can check to see which standardized test scores Undergraduate Admission has received via the Applicant Status Portal.

Submit disciplinary disclosure form

Enrolling students will need to submit the disciplinary disclosure form within three weeks of receiving a preliminary transfer credit evaluation. This form is required for you to attend orientation, move into your residence hall, and register for classes. The disciplinary disclosure form can be accessed and submitted via your Applicant Status Portal.

Questions regarding the disciplinary disclosure form can be directed to the Office of Undergraduate Admission by emailing ug-admission@northwestern.edu or calling 847-491-7271.

Switching undergraduate schools/majors

Requests for a school change require approval by the Director of Undergraduate Admission and must be made by July 1. Each request is considered individually and is contingent upon the space available in each school. To request a school change, you must first confirm your enrollment. Once confirmed, you will be able to view and access a form to request a school change on your Applicant Status Portal.

Please note: Credit evaluations are only applicable to the Northwestern School to which you applied. Should you changes schools, the preliminary transfer evaluation may not accurately reflect your credit transfer.

Official AP/IB score reports for credit evaluation

If you took AP/IB exams and your scores qualify, you may be assigned credits toward your Northwestern degree. For consideration, please request that the testing service send your official scores to Northwestern by mid-July. If your requested AP or IB scores haven’t appeared in CAESAR by September 1, 2024, email nu-transfer-credit@northwestern.edu with your score request receipt and screenshots of your College Board or International Baccalaureate (IB) account information. To understand AP/IB test credit and requirements, visit the Credit for AP or IB Exams webpage.

A note about school-specific requirements

Each of Northwestern’s six undergraduate schools has distinct requirements that apply only to its own incoming students. Requirements can range from taking placement exams and compiling a dossier to completing forms and downloading software. All of your school-specific tasks are included in your Purple Prep checklist, and a summary of those tasks is included in your school's section on this website.
