Northwestern has a negotiated contract with United (and joint venture airlines) which provides discounted fares and additional benefits.

- Discounted fares: Northwestern's negotiated rates often provide discounts compared to publicly available rates.
- Name change fees waived: Northwestern travelers who have booked a flight on United through one of Northwestern's travel agencies may use the value of that unused ticket (less applicable change fees) towards the purchase of a new ticket in the name for another Northwestern employee. Please note that Key Travel customers will need to call an Key Travel agent to take advantage of this benefit, so a Key Travel fee will also apply (visit the Key Travel Preferred Vendor web page for fee information).
- Earn miles through United's MileagePlus program: With miles you can purchase seat upgrades, baggage, or flights. Sign up to receive MileagePlus member benefits at: www.United.com/join. It is free to join. Be sure to add your MileagePlus and all loyalty numbers to your Key Travel profile.
Transfer Your Elite Status to United Airlines
United Airlines allows Northwestern travelers to match their elite status on any of 40+ other airlines with equivalent status in the United Mileage Plus Program (up to Premier or Premier Executive status).
