One Book Ambassadors

Sandra Kibet

Sandra Kibet

I am Sandra Kibet. I am a rising senior from Nairobi, Kenya, and I am an art major at Weinberg. I love going to museum exhibitions and libraries, watching tv and movies, social media, making art and any and every rollercoaster. On campus, I'm a member of the Alliance of African Scholars and Alice Millar Chapel Choir. I'm passionate about learning how identities interact in society and what it means to embody certain identities, especially with my experience as a Kenyan immigrant woman in the United States. I'm super excited to be a One Book Ambassador and to get to engage the Northwestern Community!

Bobby Read

Bobby Read

Hey! My name is Bobby Read and I am a rising Sophomore from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio majoring in Social Policy with a minor in Legal Studies. On campus, I am also involved with the NU Marching Band, University Christian Ministry, Relay for Life, Arch Society, Student Philanthropy Council, ASG's Student Activities and Resource Committee, and Phi Mu Alpha fraternity. During my non-existent free time, you can find me hammocking on the Lakefill or having photoshoots with friends. I cannot wait to be a member of the One Book Team and engage in dialogue with the rest of the Northwestern community.

Rafael Rodríguez

Rafael Rodríguez

I’m Rafael Rodríguez, a rising fourth-year student majoring in Computer Science on a pre-medical track. I’m from Puerto Rico (still live there) and love to learn through reading. I enjoy playing table tennis as part of the Northwestern University Table Tennis Club and am involved in The Garage and Alianza. I also work at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a member of the Council of Latino Admissions Volunteers for Education, which promotes Northwestern to prospective Latinx students in order to contribute to the diversity of the NU community. When I don’t have much to do, I’m usually catching up on TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy and The Flash!

In my free time, I enjoy chilling on the lakefill, dog spotting, and of course reading! I am so excited to be a part of the One Book team and engage the community in meaningful discussions!

I am so excited to be a One Book Ambassador this year to discuss underrepresented women in science and engage with the Northwestern community!
