Bipartisan Group of Lawmakers Advocating for Electoral Count Act

As a result of the numerous revelations of a fake elector scheme leading up to the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol, and as election deniers in many races aim to win positions of power, a bipartisan group of lawmakers is proposing to protect future elections. Northwestern Pritzker School of Law’s Michael Kang says the most important change made in the Electoral Count Act is clarifying the power that the vice president has during an election. 

How Some Doctors Turn Their Backs on the Disabled

Northwestern Medicine researchers in a new study document widespread bias and discrimination directed toward people with disabilities who seek health care. The study brought together scientists from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, the University of Massachusetts and Harvard Medical School to conduct focus groups with physicians drawn from a national database. The study was published in the October issue of the journal Health Affairs.
