The landscaping surrounding the new NU-Q building is designed to be environmentally friendly, requiring less maintenance. Thermal glass walls let in ample light while aiding in temperature control.

With classrooms, a library and gathering spaces throughout, the new building provides a number of places for students and faculty to meet both formally and informally. In addition, three production studios provide space for teaching and performances.

The newsroom features the most advanced technology in broadcast and production and includes all the components of a major broadcast news studio — a news desk, an area for panel discussions and a social media screen. Using a feed from live newswires, students have access to information to transform into stories, graphics and other digital visualization elements.
