Chi Che Wang was born in Soochow, China in 1894. She traveled to the United States for her education. In 1914 she received her bachelor’s degree from Wesley College. Afterwards, Chi Che came to Chicago. In 1916 she received a master’s degree in chemistry at the University of Chicago and in 1918 she earned her PhD in both chemistry and nutrition. 

In 1943, Dr. Wang was named assistant professor of physiology at the Northwestern University Medical School. She remained in this position until 1946. In 1950, Dr. Wang accepted the position of associate professor of experimental medicine and a year later she became an associate professor of biochemistry at the medical school until 1953. The Chi Che Wang Park was named in her honor.
