The field of health professions is so vast that virtually anyone can find a career that fits what they are looking for. The key to establishing your best career fit is first understanding yourself, strengths, behaviors, preferences for work environment and types of work.

Many students are familiar with the role of physicians, nurses, physical therapist, and dentists as they often interact with these particular healthcare professionals more frequently than others. However, health career areas include a wide range of diagnostic, therapeutic, and administrative services, some of which emphasize laboratory science, some that emphasize the seamless integration of systems for effective operations, and some that work on preventative measures in the public/global health sectors. These varying fields have can have direct and in-direct patient care.
