Promoting Diversity in the Health Professions

Promoting Diversity in the Health Professions is a quarterly workshop series targeting first and second year pre-health students and provides programming featuring a variety of professionals from the health professions and highlight some of the many pathways into those health careers. These sessions contribute to Northwestern’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and work to foster a welcoming environment in which students of all backgrounds feel celebrated, comfortable, and visible. This program aims to bring in diverse speakers within the health professions, both in their identities and professional experiences, and have them share their personal stories as well as address intersectional issues such as LGBTQ+ inclusion in health professions, women in medicine, and communities that are historically underserved and/or underrepresented in all health professions.
