The Office of Administration and Planning coordinates the generation, synthesis, and distribution of several reports to the University's senior leaders and Board of Trustees. These are produced to inform and guide decision making in strategic planning processes. Past President's Updates to the Board of Trustees and Competitor Scans are now available to senior leaders of the University below.
Competitor Scan
The Competitor Scan showcases the initiatives of competitor peer institutions so Northwestern's key leaders are better informed about developments in higher education among other elite institutions. More importantly, it provides a gauge of how well Northwestern is innovating and suggests directions to consider.
The report has been organized to track the major investments and innovations at peer institutions as well as Northwestern. Data is collected primarily through institutions' main news services with additional information incorporated from general news sources.

President's Updates to the Board of Trustees
The President's Updates to the Board of Trustees are prepared for each meeting of the full board. The reports provide Trustees with a high-level update on Northwestern's progress as an institution in key areas such as admissions, research activity, University financials, academic initiatives, and faculty, student, and alumni awards.
